WHAT HAVE WE LEARNED, CHARLIE BROWN?

CBS 05/30/1983

A mostly serious - and very reflective Memorial Day salute from Charles M. Schulz. This 30 minute TV special starts off in usual comic fashion, as Charlie Brown reminisces about the group's adventures while taking part in a student exchange program in France. Touring the countryside and combating car problems, they eventually camp out on a beach - Omaha Beach to be exact, where Allied forces began their invasion Of Europe on June 6, 1944. There, in the early morning Linus' Solo walk along the shore triggers a retelling of the D-Day Invasion that's rendered in animation and newsreel footage. Charles Schulz is the host. Music by Judy Munsen.
