Whoopi Goldberg hosts a celebration honoring the Golden anniversary Of the "Peanuts" gang. "It's a tribute to all of the characters," says Executive producer, Lee Mendelson, who began work on the show last Fall with Charles Schulz. "It's (Schulz's) last imprint." The hour includes 10 minutes of new animation and classic moments from previous "Peanuts" specials. Six segments cover the strip's major themes: "Unrequited Love" (featuring Faith Hill singing "Poor Sweet Baby"), "Sports" (with Joe Montana, Willie Mays and Joe Torre), "Everyday Life," "Music of Charlie Brow,'" "Snoopy," and "Happiness Is." |
